BE News is hosting an important event in collaboration with Catalyst and Obi this month exploring ‘The impact of Part 3 of the Building Safety Act’.
The free-to-attend event, which will place from 17:30 to 20:00 on Wednesday 25 September at Gem Fitzrovia Hotel in London, will bring together senior figures from across the built environment industry to debate the act’s impact on those involved in the design, construction and handover of higher risk buildings.
During this highly topical debate on the impact of the Building Safety Act, which was implemented following the Grenfell fire, we will assess the responsibilities for duty holders, investors, developers and funders as well as the challenges the industry is facing in relation to gateways. We will also evaluate the critical role of the ‘golden thread’ of information in ensuring continuous, accurate, and accessible data throughout the project lifecycle.
The event will feature a keynote speech from Paul Nash, director of building safety, UK, at Catalyst and a panel debate featuring: Jess Oliver, head of building safety at Catalyst; Gary Cass, chief executive of Broste Rivers (Hertfordshire Building Control, Build Insight, BCC Consultancy and BCC Adaptations); Steve Cripps, managing director of PMC Construction; and John Martin, associate director of construction (south) at Hyde Housing.
As well as participating in the discussion, attendees will have the opportunity to network with other senior industry figures prior to and after the keynote speech and debate.
