Do you invest in, own or develop high-rise residential buildings? Is building safety part of your remit? Are you keen to develop a deeper understanding of the Building Safety Act as the focus moves from Gateway 2 to how to navigate the shift from fault to responsibility?

Then join BE News from 17:30 to 20:30 on Thursday 26 November for our second free-to-attend ‘Spotlight on the Building Safety Act’ event.

The three-hour event, which is sponsored by Workman and Freeths, will take place at Orega, 70 Gracechurch Street, London EC3V 0HR and will be attended by 70 senior figures and decision makers from across the housing, building safety and public sectors.

Exploring the theme of ‘How to navigate the shift from fault to responsibility’, the event will kick off with a keynote speech, which will be followed by a Question Time-style panel debate featuring speakers including: Amy Farr, head of building safety and construction compliance at Workman; Li Yen Lim, building safety ambassador and managing associate at Freeths; and Marie-Claire O’Hara, group deputy company secretary and director at Laing O’Rourke.

Ahead of the 10-year anniversary of the Grenfell tragedy next June, we will be assessing the impact of the Building Safety Act, which is almost fully in force now the new Building Safety Levy has come into effect and the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) is fully operational. With both criminal and civil prosecutions currently being pursued, we will also explore issues such as where accountability ends, what due diligence companies should be undertaking before acquiring a building and they how should they deal with disputes when they arise.

Following the panel debate, attendees will have the opportunity to network with some of the most dynamic figures from across the built environment industry, building safety sector and public sector over drinks and nibbles. We will publish coverage on the BE News website and in our daily BE Alert newsletter in January 2027

Spaces are strictly limited and expected to go fast, so please register your interest here as soon as possible if you would like to attend.

There is also one remaining sponsorship opportunity, which is available on a first come, first served basis. If you are interested in finding out more, please contact BE News head of commercial Nick Stroffolino at nick@benews.co.uk.
