Wood Mackenzie has signed for 30,000 sq ft at Kennedy Wilson’s Waverley Gate office scheme in Edinburgh for its new headquarters.
The global data and analytics solutions provider for renewables, energy and natural resources, has signed a 15-year unbroken lease on the space, taking the building to 95% full.
Wood Mackenzie joins Royal London, Gallagher, Forrit, the Scottish government and Amazon at the building, with the latter recently renewing its lease on 60,000 sq ft at Waverley Gate.
Kennedy Wilson acquired the building in 2022 and following a comprehensive refurbishment it has secured EPC B and BREEAM Very Good ratings.
Matthew Milroy, managing director of Kennedy Wilson Europe, said: “As staff continue to return to the office, the ongoing leasing momentum at Waverley Gate demonstrates the demand for prime office space in Edinburgh, where supply remains extremely constrained. We identified an opportunity to invest in the property, repositioning it further to improve its sustainability credentials and attractiveness to occupiers.
“As a result, we’ve maintained very high occupancy and grown income, whilst also setting a record rent for Edinburgh at the end of 2024. The fact that major corporates have chosen to renew leases and sign new leases is a strong vote of confidence in the asset and testament to our asset management capabilities.”
