Landsec has called for ‘urgent policy reform’ off the back of new research that suggests some urban spaces could be unlivable in as little as 10 years.
In its ‘Shaping Successful Future Cities’ research, carried out in collaboration with The Future Laboratory, Landsec sets out its own ‘Six Principles of Urbanisation’ devised in collaboration with 12 ‘renowned industry experts’, which it says act as a guide for the ‘creation of successful future urban spaces’.
The developer has also published a series of actions it is encouraging policy makers to introduce to encourage a ‘more immediate’ city revival in the UK and ‘help avert the worst-case scenario identified by the research’.
