Stanhope and Mitsubishi Estate London have let an additional 8,544 sq ft of space on the 41st floor of 8 Bishopsgate to international law firm King & Spalding.
The new office space increases King & Spalding’s total footprint in the building to six floors and nearly 50,000 sq ft. The law firm signed a 10-year lease for Levels 27-31 of the building in 2023.
Lara Samworth, leasing director at Stanhope, said: “We’re delighted to support King & Spalding’s growth within the building. Having welcomed a wave of new occupiers since 8 Bishopsgate first completed, the decision for an existing occupier to expand within the building so quickly solidifies our ambition to design and manage a building that can meet the changing needs of today’s occupier. 8 Bishopsgate is a preferred choice for world-class organisations seeking premium office space in the heart of the City of London.”
Shinichi Kagitomi, chief executive of Mitsubishi Estate London, added: “It is always gratifying to be able to work with existing occupiers to accommodate their expansion plans. We’re very proud of the continued leasing progress we’ve seen this year and look forward to expanding our community further in 2025.”
Gill Baxter, director of operations Europe at King & Spalding, said: “8 Bishopsgate always felt like a natural fit for the firm and the fact we are committing to taking additional space underscores just how the office has become home. There is a buzz about the building, with its fantastic facilities and amazing amenities, so we are exceptionally excited to be continuing our partnership with Stanhope and Mitsubishi Estate London.”
