Lovell Partnerships has submitted a planning application to deliver 206 homes on the former site of Novartis Pharmaceuticals in Horsham, West Sussex.
Designed by Ayre Chamberlain Gaunt, the scheme will see the Art Deco-style commercial building repurposed to provide 51 apartments, with 155 new apartments and townhouses constructed alongside. Of the new homes, 35% will be affordable.
The homes will be delivered across a series of buildings ranging from two-storey mews houses to five-storey apartment blocks, which will flank the existing building. A series of sensitive upgrades will be made to the existing building to improve thermal performance and building safety.
The proposed masterplan for the 2.72-hectare site also includes a tree-lined boulevard running through the centre of the scheme, terminating in a landscaped green space in front of the existing building.
