McLaren Living has secured planning approval from the London Borough of Tower Hamlets for a co-living development at Fish Island, Hackney Wick.
The development will regenerate the final plot in the Neptune Wharf masterplan, delivering 280 co-living studios and 44 affordable homes. The on-site amenity provision will include a library, gym and studio space with communal areas throughout the building featuring kitchens, dining, social, cinema and creative rooms, plus laundry facilities.
Designed by HTA Design, the two buildings of 10 and seven storeys will integrate into the surrounding Fish Island and Hackney Wick neighbourhood and in addition to providing much needed homes, the development will include a new social co-working café and flexible pop-up event space.
Ed Court, divisional managing director at McLaren Living, said: “We’re excited to deliver on our plans for Wansbeck Road, completing the regeneration of Fish Island, with the site an important remaining parcel of the Neptune Wharf masterplan. Wansbeck Road represents one of inner London’s premier co-living investment opportunities, benefiting from a strong and diverse professional population, exceptional connectivity, and outstanding access to key employment, education, and leisure destinations across the capital.”
