Native Land has received planning permission for a new 110,000 sq ft sustainable office at its 1.4m sq ft Bankside Yards mixed-use development in Southwark, London.
The all-electric 13-storey building, designed by architects Stiff+Trevillion, as part of PLP Architecture’s Bankside Yards masterplan, has been designed to achieve BREEAM Outstanding.
It will be supplied by a renewable energy source and its facade enables the building to reduce solar gain and heat loss, with the post-tensioned concrete structure designed to keep embodied carbon to a minimum.
Building 8 will offer 10,763 sq ft of ‘affordable’ workspace, including 7,000 sq ft of flexible Class E space on the ground floor. The building will also feature large terraces on the sixth and tenth floors, 4,300 sq ft of new public realm, including a pocket park, and 300 cycle spaces.

Having worked in Bankside for more than a decade, we have seen the increased presence of media, creative, technology and professional businesses. Building 8’s offer to smaller businesses will compliment our nearby Arbor building, and recently approved Building 1, which are both designed for larger corporate users.”
