Carter Jonas has appointed Peter Disley as a partner in its planning and development team in Manchester.

Disley, who has more than 25 years’ experience across the public and private sectors, most recently served as head of development at Courts Real Estate.

Prior to that, he held senior development roles at Praxis Real Estate, New East Manchester URC, Cushman & Wakefield and Drivers Jonas (now Deloitte Real Estate)

Harry Bolton, head of Manchester office and NW head of planning and development at Carter Jonas, said: “We are delighted to welcome Peter at a particularly interesting point in the development of the North West market. There is substantial public and private investment coming forward across the region but delivering successful schemes demands commercial judgement alongside strong planning and development expertise.

“Peter has an extensive track record and a particularly valuable breadth of experience. He understands development from the perspective of consultant, developer and investor and has spent much of his career turning complex development propositions into deliverable projects.

“His appointment strengthens our established regeneration and development offer and also creates further opportunities for our planning and development and commercial teams to work together. That will allow us to provide clients with joined-up advice from the earliest stages of a project through to delivery.”

Disley added: “The North West has no shortage of development ambition but converting that ambition into viable, deliverable projects requires an increasingly broad understanding of planning, funding, land, market demand and delivery. I have worked on projects from several different perspectives – as a consultant, developer and investor – and I am looking forward to bringing that experience to Carter Jonas and working with colleagues across the business to help clients unlock opportunities and bring complex projects forward.”
