BE News is delighted to announce that Amanda Finch, CEO of the Chartered Institute of Information Security (CIISec), will be delivering the keynote speech at the Spotlight on Cybersecurity event on 15 January.
The free-to-attend event, which is taking place from 17:00 to 19:30 at host Landsec’s dedicated event space The Stables, MYO King’s Cross, London, is themed ‘Stop thinking if. Start thinking when’ and will be attended by up to 80 senior decision makers and cybersecurity experts from across the built environment industry.
Co-hosted by Landsec and Kontor and sponsored by Control Risks, Pinsent Masons and technologywithin, the event will kick off with a scene-setting presentation by Mark Whyte, partner at Control Risks.
Finch, who has specialised in information security management since 1991, and in her current role works with Industry, government and academia, will then take to the stage to deliver her keynote speech, which will highlight the challenges facing businesses as the threat landscape evolves.
Following her speech, there will be a Question Time-style panel debate, which will be chaired by BE News editor-in-chief Liz Hamson and feature expert panellists including: Caitlin Egen, commercial director, digital risks, at Control Risks; Stuart Davey, partner at Pinsent Masons; Martin Whitaker, development director at technologywithin; Alan Pepper, chief executive of Orega; and Louise Methven, compliance & cyber security director at Ark Data Centres.
During the debate, the panel will assess issues such as the potential impact of the Cyber Security and Resilience Bill, the increasingly sophisticated tactics used by hackers, the vulnerabilities unique to built environment businesses and the steps the industry should be taking now to minimise the threat.
Following the debate, guests will be able to network with leading figures from across the built environment industry over drinks and canapés.
Those with an interest in the workspace cybersecurity threat will also have the opportunity to see a live hacking demo from technologywithin’s Whitaker. Prior to the event, attendees will have the chance to take part in a guided tour of Landsec’s new state-of-the-art MYO workspace.
