Resolution Property has leased 3,450 sq ft to a global investment management firm on the 10th floor of the Smithson Tower in St James’s, London.

The property investment and asset management company secured the 10-year lease on behalf of building owner Fidelidade Property.

The lease was signed following the completion of CAT A works to the floor as part of a wider office refurbishment programme due to complete in Q2 2024

Fidelidade Property acquired the long leasehold of Smithson Plaza from Tishman Speyer in late 2020. The mixed-use development features three buildings – the 14-storey Smithson Tower, the seven-storey Denham Building and the five-storey Bank Building – in addition to retail, gallery and restaurant space.

As part of the refurbishment programme at the plaza, six floors of the Smithson Tower, which was formerly the HQ of The Economist, will be upgraded to Grade A standard, with the tenth floor the first to be completed.

Dominic Higgitt, asset manager at Resolution Property, said: “The deal is a testament to the strong appetite for best-in-class office space in the St James’s and Mayfair area with a wide offering of hospitality and retail facilities. Smithson Plaza benefits from a prime location and the upper floors of Smithson Tower enjoy unrivalled views across London. We look forward to completing the refurbishment works over the next six months and welcoming further occupiers to the estate.”

Resolution Property was advised by Edward Charles Partners and Colliers. The tenant was represented by CBRE.
