Richborough has secured outline planning consent for a residential development to the west of the historic market town of Southwell in Nottinghamshire.

The scheme will provide up to 70 homes, 30% of which will be affordable, alongside associated infrastructure, public open space and children’s play areas on a 8.1-acre site. New and existing footpaths will connect the development to surrounding areas, enhancing local connectivity.

Richborough’s in-house design team led the architectural direction of the development to ensure it responds to Southwell’s historic character and material palette.

Anabel Christmas, senior regional director (east) at Richborough said: “Our design-led approach demonstrated how the scheme will feel inherently connected to its setting, delivering new homes that enhance the town while providing much-needed housing. It’s indicative of our approach to unlock land and reflects our commitment to thoughtful, context-driven residential development.”
