Get Living chief executive officer Rick de Blaby has announced his intention to step down in 2026, after more than nine years at the helm of the business.
De Blaby said: “I’m extremely proud of the business and the whole team we have built. When I started at Get Living in 2017, we were operating 1,500 homes in one neighbourhood at East Village when the build-to-rent sector was in its infancy. We are now operating 6,000 homes across seven stabilised neighbourhoods in London, Manchester, Birmingham and the South East, with a new Zone 1 destination at The Elephant launching in Summer 2026.
“The business is now entering a new era, assuming the REIT persona that was always envisioned back in 2017. This makes it an appropriate time to hand over the reins to a successor who can optimise the operational efficiencies that now present from scale.”
Jeremy Helsby, chairman of Get Living, added: “On behalf of the shareholders, we sincerely thank Rick for all the leadership and dedication he has shown over the last nine years to grow and develop Get Living into a mature platform and market leader in the build-to-rent sector.
“A process by shareholders has commenced to secure the CEO successor and we are grateful that Rick will remain in post over the course of 2026 to ensure a smooth and effective transition, ensuring that the business remains operating at its optimum.”
