Savills has acquired MEIT Consultants, a building services consultancy specialising in mechanical, electrical and environmental engineering within the data centre sector, for an undisclosed price.
The acquisition will provide Savills with established data centre design expertise in the UK and Europe, adding a new service line that will both augment and complement its comprehensive M&E consultancy offer.
Savills said the combined offering gives it a platform to scale with its existing clients, as well as creating new relationships and maximising its data centres service across the business.
MEIT Consultants was founded in 1988 and is led by partners Martin Ross and Tim Hale, supported by directors Alan Gibson and Ketan Bhanderi. Its 28-strong team will immediately become part of Savills.
Richard Rees, managing director of Savills UK, said: “MEIT Consultants has an established reputation in the building services consultancy industry and our combined sector expertise across the UK and into Europe will benefit both existing and new clients.”
Jarrod Griffiths, head of M&E consultancy at Savills, added: “The acquisition of MEIT Consultants provides us with a springboard to accelerate the growth of our M&E consultancy practice, with a particular focus on growing our offer across data centre design, and we are looking forward to collaboratively exploring the opportunities that this presents.”
Ross said: “This is an exciting move for the MEIT business and one that offers us a platform for growth through the collaboration of expertise that will not only benefit our clients but also our staff. There are significant synergies between the two businesses, particularly around our focus on our people and providing a first class service to clients. We are very much looking forward to joining Savills and working together to augment our combined offer further.”
