The South Cambridgeshire Investment Partnership (SCIP) has submitted a planning application for 256 low carbon homes in Cambourne.
The 50:50 joint venture partnership between South Cambridgeshire District Council and The Hill Group will also deliver more than 70 affordable, net zero homes on the 9.64 hectare sustainable development within Cambourne Business Park, in South Cambridgeshire.
The site will offer a range of five-bedroom houses to one-bedroom apartments, of which 40% – 102 homes – will be affordable and 70% of the affordable homes will be earmarked for social rent, with the remaining 30% available for shared ownership.
SCIP said 72 affordable homes at the development will achieve net zero carbon, with Passivhaus levels of performance achieved through high levels of insulation, airtight construction, air source heat pumps for heating and hot water and photovoltaic panels.
