Singaporean developer Hoi Hup Realty has secured planning consent for the delivery of circa 370,000 sq ft of Grade A office space in High Holborn, London.
Designed by Make Architects, the 10-storey scheme will occupy a 1.4-acre island site adjacent to Chancery Lane underground station and replace the existing Holborn Gate, Heron House and 44 Southampton buildings.
Hoi Hup Realty is targeting BREEAM Outstanding and EPC A ratings for the development, which will also feature improved public realm with a new public park as well as a new 300-capacity, immersive auditorium and exhibition space for community events called the Holborn Dome.
Tom Sleigh, chairman of the planning and transportation committee at the City of London Corporation, said: “This is exactly the kind of scheme we want to see more of in the Square Mile – best-in-class office space that keeps London globally competitive, while also delivering public spaces that everyone can enjoy. Supporting the primary business function of the City through meeting this huge level of demand for office space is critical, but I’m particularly pleased by the retention of sections of the Knights Templar, a brilliant way to connect the new venue with the history of the site.”
The project team also includes Savills as development adviser and leasing agent, Gleeds as project manager and Newmark as planning consultant.
