St Modwen Logistics has started construction of a 1.2m sq ft logistics scheme on the site of a former power station in Meaford, Staffordshire.
The first phase comprises two new sustainable warehouses totalling 112,000 sq ft, which are due for completion in Q4 2024.
The BREEAM Excellent and EPC A-rated warehouses will feature rooftop solar panels, smart LED lighting that reduces energy consumption by 10%, as well as EV charging points and smart metering.
St Modwen Logistics has secured detailed planning consent for two additional units of 193,000 sq ft and 359,000 sq ft at the site, which can also accommodate build-to-suit facilities of up to 633,000 sq ft.
