Stanhope has appointed Mace Construct to deliver the £450m GDV Red Lion Court riverside development on London’s South Bank.
Stanhope acquired Red Lion Court in September 2025 alongside Cheyne Capital and intends to deliver circa 249,500 sq ft of flexible office space featuring generous floor to ceiling heights and 1,000 sq ft of café space.
Designed by Bjarke Ingels Group, the building will also feature four terraces overlooking the River Thames, a club room and wellness centre and market-leading end-of-trip facilities, including 719 bike spaces and 54 showers.
Tony Wall, head of development at Stanhope, said: “Over the past 30 years, Mace Construct has partnered with us on some London’s most iconic buildings – the team has a proven, through the cycle track record delivering high-profile projects and their innovative approach to this project again made them a natural choice to manage its construction.
“Red Lion Court is set to be another landmark development and awarding this contract shortly after acquiring the project last year allows us to work to a timetable that delivers this prime new office space at a time when the market will be amongst its most constrained in terms of supply. With a world class project team now in place, we look forward to working with Mace and turning our vision into reality.”
Ged Simmonds, managing director for commercial at Mace Construct, added: “We are immensely proud to be entrusted with the delivery of Red Lion Court, a project that will set new benchmarks for sustainable and innovative workplaces in London. We are excited to work in close partnership with Stanhope to realise their vision, leveraging our expertise in disciplined delivery to ensure an outstanding result for the occupiers and surrounding community.”
