Atelier has completed a £21.7m loan to Study Inn Group to fund the development of a new 203-bed purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) block in Edgbaston, Birmingham.
The Edgbaston scheme is the group’s eighteenth development project and will be delivered by its in-house development arm in time for the September 2027 academic year.
Rav Kudhail, lending director at Atelier, said: “We are pleased to be supporting Study Inn on this scheme, marking the start of a new client relationship with an award winning PBSA developer and operator known for its focus on wellbeing and student satisfaction. The project will deliver high quality student accommodation within the highly sought-after Calthorpe Estate in Birmingham and aligns well with our focus on backing proven PBSA developers and operators in strong locations.”
Marcus Hook, group finance director at Study Inn, added: “This was our first transaction with the Atelier team and we were impressed by their highly competitive terms, proactive approach and clear communication throughout. Their ability to move quickly and provide certainty of execution was important in enabling us to complete on the site acquisition and commence development within our required timeframe.”
