Supermarket Income REIT has appointed Jamie Cowen from Sainsbury’s as strategy director.
Cowen has more than 30 years’ experience in grocery real estate investment and operations, as well as strong relationships with key stakeholders across the sector. At Sainsbury’s, he worked in a number of senior investment and property development roles and latterly served as director of estates and investment.
In the newly created position of strategy director, Cowen will play a key role in driving the growth of SUPR’s portfolio, including the identification of high quality assets across the grocery real estate space and opportunities to maximise returns through active asset management.
Rob Abraham, CEO of Supermarket Income REIT, said: “Jamie brings invaluable experience in grocery property from his time at Sainsbury’s. As the leading landlord to grocery tenants, his appointment will further enhance our team’s sector expertise and deep operator relationships. I look forward to working with him as we enter our next phase of growth and delivering attractive returns for our shareholders.”
Cowen added: “I am thrilled to be joining SUPR at such an exciting time in its growth. The company achieved a number of major milestones last year, and I’m excited to be a part of continuing that momentum. I’m looking forward to bringing my experience and relationships in the sector to help SUPR grow and diversify its portfolio.”
