Knight Frank has secured a second extension to its full-service real estate mandate with The Law Society.

Under the terms of the mandate, Knight Frank will continue to advise The Law Society on all facets of its UK real estate portfolio including leasing, ratings, valuations, planning support and asset management consultancy.

The society owns, occupies and operates a nationwide portfolio of office and residential assets including its Grade II listed headquarters at 113 Chancery Lane, which comprises workspace alongside the Six Clerks restaurant and members’ library, and the historic townhouse at 60 Carey Street.

Knight Frank has advised The Law Society on its real estate holdings since 2020, securing an initial extension to its contract in 2023.

Richard Proctor, head of UK occupier strategy and solutions at Knight Frank, said: “Knight Frank has developed a market leading track record of advisory work across the legal sector, working with a plethora of leading global law firms, regulators and industry bodies to optimise their real estate portfolios.

“Amid the ongoing war for talent across the sector, the quality of workspace provision is a key contributor to successful attraction and retention which can tip the scales in favour of legal employers hoping to entice the best and brightest through their doors. This mandate extension with The Law Society, one of the UK’s most well-respected legal institutions, reflects the success of our relationship to date and Knight Frank’s reputation as the go-to real estate adviser for the UK legal sector.”

Tom Booton, head of corporate real estate at The Law Society, added: “Building on all that we have achieved over the past five years of partnership, the extension of The Law Society’s relationship with Knight Frank’s will mean the organisation’s portfolio continues to support our thriving operations long into the future. Working hand-in-hand with Knight Frank’s expert team, the active management and optimisation of our real estate holdings will help to bolster the quality of space we offer to employees, partners and members for working and socialising, while also ensuring The Law Society’s real estate footprint continues to reflect the organisation’s venerable reputation.”
