The Oxford Science Park (TOSP) has purchased the 31,581 sq ft Hinshelwood Building at the park for an undisclosed price.
TOSP acquired the building, which is situated at the centre of the park, as part of an investment programme to provide ‘the support infrastructure for growing companies as they address global health and environmental challenges’.
As part of this programme six new R&D buildings, totalling more than 600,000 sq ft, will be built at the park over the next three years, with the first of these buildings – the 86,000 sq ft The Iversen Buildings – expected to complete this summer.
Rory Maw, CEO of TOSP, said: “The Hinshelwood Building is an important strategic site at the heart of The Oxford Science Park and has been earmarked for some time as one of our priority investments. We are therefore delighted to have completed the acquisition. Taking control of the building enhances our ability to provide a balance of flexible office and laboratory space to our fast-growing base of occupiers as well as new companies moving to the park.”
