Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) has completed a flurry of new lettings and lease renewals at the Centrale and Whitgift shopping centres in Croydon.

The new brands taking space in the centres include beauty bar Adara Beauty, pre-owned women’s clothing store Dressmode, local apparel and accessories shop Maflora, pinball club Pinball Republic, Rebel Clothing and homewares and apparel brand Stacks.

URW has recently secured lease renewals with the likes of House of Fraser, Sports Direct, photography service Art Impress, accessories brand Claire’s Accessories and Starbucks.

A number of food and beverage brands including Thirst Trap Bar, Cool Ice, Burgers and Fries and Indigo Street Food have also launched short term pop-ups on the roof of Centrale as part of the ‘Costa Del Croydon’ event which will run throughout August.

Kate Orwin, leasing director UK at Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, said: “We have such a wide variety of retailers and occupiers at the Centrale and Whitgift centres from major global brands to local, independents, and today’s news is testament to ongoing confidence in Croydon as a retail destination. We aim to provide our customers and local community with a diverse shopping experience, and we are delighted to bring new brands including Dressmode and Adara Beauty to Croydon as well as long term favourites such as House of Fraser, Sports Direct and Starbucks.”

Jason Perry, executive mayor of Croydon, added: “We welcome the latest lease signings at Centrale & Whitgift shopping centres and the interest Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield is seeing from existing and new retailers wishing to invest in our town centre. Croydon Urban Room, opened in the heart of the town centre, is perfectly placed to engage with local residents, businesses and community groups, as we work together to develop a vision for a vibrant and welcoming town centre where people want to live, work and visit.”
