Vistry and joint venture partner Kier Property have secured planning consent for Phase 3 of the Great Haddon development in Peterborough.
The approved phase will deliver 289 new homes, comprising 47 affordable homes and 242 homes for private sale. The affordable housing provision includes 28 homes for affordable rent and 19 homes for shared ownership. The affordable rent homes comprise a mix of two-, three- and four-bedroom properties, while the shared ownership homes include a mix of two- and three-bedroom homes.
This scheme will form part of the wider Great Haddon development, which was approved in 2018 and will eventually comprise around 5,350 homes, local centres with retail and community spaces, primary schools, secondary school, local parks and open spaces as well as other community facilities.
Alex Stark, managing director at Vistry East Anglia, said: “Securing reserved matters approval for Phase 3 at Great Haddon is a significant step forward for the development. This phase will deliver a wide range of high quality homes in a mix of tenures, supporting local housing needs and contributing to the continued growth of this important new community in Peterborough.”
Leigh Thomas, group managing director at Kier property, added: “Securing reserved matters approval at Great Haddon is a significant milestone and an important step in bringing forward high quality new homes. Working in partnership with Vistry, we are focused on delivering a well-designed, sustainable neighbourhood that responds to local needs and creates long-term value for the community. This approval gives us the confidence to move ahead and turn the shared vision for Great Haddon into a reality.”
