WeWork’s Andre Fernandez is resigning from his position as chief financial officer (CFO) and treasurer of the company effective 1 June 2023.
He will be replaced by Kurt Wehner, the company’s chief accounting officer, as CFO and treasurer, effective 1 June 2023.
WeWork said “the resignation is not the result of any disagreement with the company with respect to any matter relating to financial controls, financial statements or any other operations, policies or practices of the company”.
The news comes after it was announced earlier this month that CEO Sandeep Mathrani was stepping down on Friday 26 May to be replaced by WeWork board member David Tolley as interim CEO.
Mathrani, who joined WeWork as CEO in February 2020, said: “It has been a privilege to lead WeWork during a notable transformation. Over the last three years we have restored the brand, grown revenue, right-sized the company, restructured our debt, and developed new product lines. I am grateful to have been able to lead such a resilient group of employees who through it all stepped up to meet and beat every challenge. I am firm in my belief that this is WeWork’s moment.”
