Flexible workspace operator Work.Life has leased the 22,000 sq ft Typewriter Building at 140 Borough High Street in London from W.RE.
Work.Life will take occupancy of the building in Q3 2023 following completion of an extensive refurbishment led by Cowie Montgomery Architects.
W.RE is targeting WELL Readiness and BREEAM Excellent for the refurbishment, which involves repurposing the building’s existing structure and preserving its signature façade, effectively reducing carbon emissions and minimising waste throughout the development process.
The five-storey building, which was originally built in 1957 by renowned architects Richard Seifert and Wilem Frischman, will feature a winter garden, a bio-solar roof, a rooftop terrace and ample cycle spaces.
