Workman has strengthened the firm’s retail and leisure destination marketing offer by appointing Karen Brooks as senior account manager within its Activate team.
Brooks has more than 30 years of property management and marketing experience, having previously worked at centres including The Harlequin in Watford and Stratford Centre in East London.
Most recently, she delivered destination marketing projects for shopping centre, leisure and business park clients at industry specialist agency Key Lime.
In her new role, Brooks will lead account management across a range of Activate’s destination marketing clients, including arc Shopping Centre, one of Activate’s newest instructions. She will also lead place audits for a number of retail, leisure and office schemes in the South East.
Andrew Sparrow, director of Activate and partner at Workman, said: “Karen will play an important role in driving service delivery across retail, leisure and commercial destination marketing and placemaking instructions. It’s great to further grow the expertise and experience within the team.”
Brooks added: “It’s great to have joined Activate and to be working with clients to create places people genuinely want to spend time in. Having spent my career in shopping centre and leisure marketing, I know how much of a difference the right approach to placemaking can make – and I’m looking forward to bringing that experience to the team.”
