M&G has promoted Simon Ellis to co-fund manager of its M&G European property fund alongside fund manager David Jackson.
Ellis has worked on the fund since it launched in 2006 with a mandate to invest in a diversified portfolio of assets in mature European markets and has been deputy fund manager since 2015.
He will now assume a more significant role in strategy and investment decisions, reporting to Tony Brown, global head of M&G Real Estate.
Brown said: “Simon’s promotion is thoroughly deserved and is reflective of the key role that he has played in the growth of the fund and demonstrates M&G’s commitment to growing intellectual capital and rewarding excellence within the business.”
Ellis added: “I am excited to join David in leading the fund in its next stage of growth. The fund is well positioned to benefit from new opportunities in the current market environment in order to continue the strong growth and performance it has delivered over the past decade.”
