AEW is undertaking a £4.7m refurbishment of the Norman Foster-designed Spectrum Building in Swindon.
The asset manager is poised to “breathe a new lease of life” into the iconic 260,000 sq ft Grade II listed building, which was the set for the 1984 James Bond film ‘A View to a Kill’.
The programme of works include a refurbishment of the roof, repair and redecoration of the steel frame and cladding and additional utility provisions to enable multiple occupancy.

Our efforts are focused on ensuring that the historic High Tech character of the Spectrum Building is maintained while increasing its sustainability and creating a truly green asset for the community in Swindon.”

ECUS Ecological Consultants has been appointed to provide guidance during the works, KJ Tait Engineering is providing mechanical and electrical consultancy and Beard Construction is the main contractor. The works are due to complete in May 2024.
