The Egis’ Architecture Line has appointed Rupert Buxton from WilkinsonEyre as chief operating officer.

Buxton, who will be based in the firm’s London HQ, was commercial director at WilkinsonEyre and has nearly 20 years’ experience in major architecture and built environment practices.

In his new role, he will play a critical part in refining operational strategies across the group’s architecture firms, which include 10 Design, Weston Williamson+Partners, SB Architects, U+A and Omrania.

David Pringle, chairman of the Egis’ Architecture Line, said: “We are pleased to welcome Rupert as our new chief operating officer. Working closely with managing director Colin Hutchison this critical appointment will further strengthen our leadership and support our international operations.”

Hutchison added: “Rupert joining our team arrives during a pivotal moment for our industry. His vision and expertise will allow us to fully leverage opportunities in our evolving markets while consolidating existing operations, ensuring risks are mitigated and results are optimal.”

Buxton said: “I am delighted to be joining at such an exciting time for the business and am extremely enthused by the challenges ahead. I very much look forward to working with the dedicated architecture leadership group and the wider service line team as we move forward into the next stages of this exciting journey.”
