Stantec has appointed Susan Emmett as the firm’s new social value business support lead for the UK and Ireland.

In her previous role, Emmett was Stantec’s infrastructure director of client accounts and growth and she also chaired the Innovate UK Knowledge Transfer Partnership with the University of Reading.

In her new role, she will be responsible for shaping Stantec’s operational activities for social value across the business.

Emmett said: “We know how critical social value is for our clients across every sector, and it will only become more so considering the increasing need for widespread sustainable development. Stantec is working on transformative schemes around the world and our presence is felt across all society. Making these impacts more visible and quantifiable is the next stage of our social value journey.”

Rachel Bannon-Godfrey, Stantec’s SDG impact leader, added: “Susan’s broad experience reflects the many aspects of social value we must consider as an industry. Going forward, she will drive consistency in the ways in which Stantec creates positive, generational impacts for the communities in which we live and work.”
