Thackeray Group has launched a £100m drive to acquire commercial properties with strong sustainability and occupier wellness potential.

Antony Alberti, chief executive of the private investor/developer, which has a number of schemes in Cardiff, Manchester, Reading and London, said the company was “eager for more opportunities”.

He added: “We are actively looking to turbocharge our development pipeline and have earmarked £100m to become a leader in the field of sustainable and wellness-focused real estate.”

Earlier this week, Thackeray Group opened the 30,000 sq ft New Timber Yard office and workspace campus in Hammersmith. Set in an old timber plot, the building, which was designed by Frost Architects and Jo Cowen Architects, has been designed to retain the character of the original site.

The BREEAM Excellent and EPC A-rated campus boasts a host of sustainability features such as PV panels, LED lighting, smart controls and green roofs. The site also has an on-site gym, event spaces and a landscaped courtyard with a Green Egg BBQ, pizza oven, ice baths and a bike storage facility with dedicated drying room.

Alberti said: “With tenant focus increasingly on not just the sustainability of office and workspace, but also the comfort and wellbeing of their employees, New Timber Yard is the ideal location and ticks every box for today’s market.”

Frost Meadowcroft and CBRE are letting agents for the scheme.
