Global venture capital firm Pi Labs has backed five new AI start-ups that are leveraging large language models to digitalise and decarbonise the built world.
The start-ups, which make up Pi Labs’ 13th annual growth programme cohort of early-stage founders, are working at various points across the built world value chain
After evaluating 1,844 companies, Pi Labs selected these five companies based on the calibre of the founding team, their potential to scale globally across different markets and their ability to build proprietary and defensible technology, capitalise on secular growth trends and contribute to a more digital and sustainable built environment.
The five start-ups are:
FLUIX has developed an AI platform ‘A.I.M.I’ which acts like a facility manager for data centres. It optimises energy use and reduces costs by making precise adjustments to building management systems, ensuring data centres stay cool without wasting energy and enabling maximised compute power without raising operating costs.
Trubrics is a product analytics platform for LLM applications, such as AI assistants, AI co-pilots and voice commands. It allows businesses to better understand and increase the value of the AI products they build and launch, by gathering insights on user sentiment and feedback.
Prosperous claims it can save its customers up to 30% on their raw materials cost by using advanced technology to provide strategic insights into supply chain decisions. Its technology produces an automated analysis of customer spending to drive “meaningful” data-driven decisions.
Howie has developed an AI co-pilot tailored to the AEC industry. It enables employees to quickly access and retrieve relevant project knowledge across scattered data sources, including drawings and images, with enhanced accuracy and intuitive search capabilities.
Innex.ai empowers infrastructure support staff with an AI-driven assistant, starting with the NHS built environment. The intuitive AI copilot simplifies navigating governance documents, including legislation, regulations, standards, and best practices, as well as industry trends.
Faisal Butt (pictured), managing partner and founder of Pi Labs, said: “All five selected companies are furthering the capabilities of AI to turbocharge the effectiveness of key operational business areas, for companies operating in the built world and beyond. As an early-stage investor, Pi Labs has fine-tuned the Growth Programme to successfully scout and develop the start-ups that can best drive asset performance.
“We’ve chosen to focus on AI-focused founders as 2025 is set to be the year that the clear winners start to emerge. The race is on to find the most promising players and as the conduit between the start-up world and the industry’s wider ecosystem of investors, entrepreneurs and potential clients, Pi Labs has a central role to play.”
