British Land has completed a hat-trick of lettings totalling 42,278 sq ft at Meadowhall shopping centre.
JD is nearly trebling its presence on Meadowhall’s Lower Level High Street, taking five adjacent units to create a 29,225 sq ft store – its second largest nationally.
Superdrug is relocating to a new 10,199 sq ft store on Meadowhall’s Lower Level High Street and Ann Summers is upsizing into a 2,854 sq ft unit, also on Meadowhall’s Lower Level High Street.
James Air, director of group acquisitions at JD, said: “I am absolutely thrilled that we will be delivering one of our largest stores in Europe at Meadowhall. With over 60m of frontage in a prime location, I am confident this will be one of our very best stores.”
Richard Crowther, retail leasing director at British Land, added: “Meadowhall continues to attract strategic investment from leading national and international brands. JD, Superdrug, and Ann Summers are the latest tenants to recommit to the destination, following 26 retailers that invested over £30m in their stores in the last 12 months. These substantial lease agreements will only elevate Meadowhall’s Lower High Street, as part of a centre that really dominates its region.”
