The Snowsfields Quarter Partnership has submitted plans to deliver a new life sciences hub in Southwark, London.
The joint venture between Guy’s & St Thomas’ Foundation, Oxford Properties and Reef + Partners, plans to deliver approximately 360,000 sq ft of multi-functional space, including 245,000 sq ft of specialist laboratory facilities, at Snowsfields Quarter across three buildings.
The ambition is for the scheme to support pioneering research in fields such as medical technology, genetics and neuroscience, creating spaces that will cultivate a thriving life sciences ecosystem in Southwark.
The JV partners are targeting BREEAM Outstanding, WELL Platinum and net zero carbon carbon in operation for the fossil-fuel free development, with 95% of construction and demolition waste materials diverted from landfill for reuse, recycling or recovery.
