Grosvenor has let a public house in Mayfair to the teams behind Crisp Pizza and The Devonshire.
The partnership between two of London’s most successful food and drink operators will comprise a traditional pub on the ground floor with Crisp Pizza operating a restaurant with seating for 52 people in the downstairs area.
Previously known as The Marlborough Head, the new restaurant at 24 North Audley Street, will launch as The Marlborough in October this year.
The site has been the home of a public house since 1758, and since becoming vacant in 2020, Grosvenor has worked to repair and enhance the building and its heritage features.
Amelia Bright, executive director, London Estate, at Grosvenor said: “We couldn’t be more excited to be working alongside Carl and the team at The Devonshire. From the outset, it was clear what a special addition this would be to Mayfair and the wider West End. Securing this unique partnership epitomises how our active asset management continuously enhances our neighbourhoods, whilst simultaneously preserving their unique architectural heritage.”
Carl McCluskey, founder of Crisp Pizza, added: “We are incredibly grateful to Grosvenor for believing in us and trusting us with this opportunity to take on such a historic site. It’s exactly the kind of location we dreamed of for a permanent home for Crisp and we can’t wait to be part of the community.”
Oisín Rogers, from The Devonshire, said: “I am a huge fan of Carl, firstly as a great publican and secondly as the creator of London’s most famous pizza. I was delighted to have the opportunity to help a tiny bit in the background with what I believe is going to be London’s biggest pub opening this year.”
