BE News is holding the first ever ‘Skills Gap Spotlight + Hackathon’ event from Monday 27 to Tuesday 28 October at the RICS HQ at 12 Great George St, London, SW1P 3AD – and you are invited!
The free-to-attend event, which is being delivered in collaboration with RICS and with support from Real Estate Balance (REB), will be attended by up to 100 senior figures and young leaders from across the built environment industry as well as up to 40 hackathon participants.
It will kick off on the afternoon of Monday 27 October with the first half of The Skills Gap Hackathon, which is open to young leaders and rising stars from across the built environment industry, who will develop solutions that they will pitch to an expert judging panel on the afternoon of Tuesday 28 October.
The main conference, which will take place from 11am to 5.30pm on Tuesday 28 October, boasts a packed agenda featuring some of the most dynamic names from across the industry.
The morning Spotlight on the Skills Gap session, sponsored by RICS and Walker Morris, will kick off with keynote speeches by Mark Farmer, founder of Cast and chair of the new Built Environment Futures Assembly, and Sarah Maclean, joint chief executive of Skills England, and will be followed by a one-hour Question Time-style panel debate chaired by BE News editor-in-chief Liz Hamson and networking over a buffet lunch.
Lunch will be followed by an afternoon of interactive Spotlight+ sessions, which will include a TED-style talk by founder and chief executive of Illume Executive Consulting Hannah Awonuga, an ‘In Conversation with’ chat with The Land Collective founder and chief executive with Sarah Hayford and a Speed Workshopping session, as well as the second half of the Skills Gap Hackathon. The event will conclude with networking over drinks and canapés, which will be open to all Spotlight attendees and hackathon participants.
