Schroder European Real Estate Investment Trust has appointed Phil Redding as an independent non-executive director, with effect from 1 January 2026.

Redding has more than 35 years of experience in the UK & pan-European property sector, having begun his career at King Sturge. He previously served as chief investment officer and executive director at SEGRO and was most recently chief executive officer of Tritax EuroBox, where he led the business through its acquisition by Brookfield in December 2024.

Redding, who is currently a non-executive director of Harworth Group and a member of its remuneration committee, will become a member of the trust’s audit, valuation and risk committee, nomination and remuneration committee, and management engagement committee.

Schroder European Real Estate Investment Trust has also confirmed that Sir Julian Berney Bt will be stepping down as chairman and retiring from the board at the conclusion of the trust’s AGM in March 2026. He will be succeeded by Redding.

The board of the trust said: “We wish to express our sincere gratitude to Sir Julian Berney Bt for his significant contribution since the company’s inception in 2015. At the same time, we’re pleased to be announcing that Phil will be joining the board and taking up the chairman’s role. His extensive experience across both the UK listed markets and direct European real estate, coupled with his recent corporate finance activity, means he is ideally placed to lead the company in 2026 and beyond.”
