DM Hall has appointed Charlie Barrett, who operates within the firm’s Edinburgh residential team, as a partner.

Barrett joined DM Hall as a graduate in 2014 after completing an HNC in construction, an HND in architectural technology and commencing his building surveying degree.

Following qualification, he gained further experience with Graham + Sibbald and Bradleys Chartered Surveyors before rejoining DM Hall in late 2020.

More recently, Barrett has become involved in the development and enhancement of DM Hall’s graduate and training programme, playing a key role in an initiative that is central to the firm’s long-term strategy.

Barrett said: “With its 129-year-old legacy as one of Scotland’s leading independent firms of chartered surveyors, DM Hall is widely recognised as a highly professional, dynamic organisation and I am honoured to be invited to join the partnership. I look forward hugely to contributing to the firm’s continuing success and the ongoing development of our young and able team.”

John McHugh, managing partner of DM Hall, added: “Charlie has made an invaluable contribution to the growth and success of our residential business in Edinburgh. More recently, he has become heavily involved in the development and enhancement of our graduate programme and is already contributing significantly to that very important initiative. Individual talent, achievement, effort and commitment will always be recognised and rewarded at DM Hall, and the same pathways and opportunities remain open and achievable for everyone within the firm.

“We take great pleasure in welcoming Charlie to the DM Hall Partnership and look forward to what we fully expect will be an outstanding contribution from him to the continuing success of the firm now and in the years to come.”
