Cushman & Wakefield has strengthened its UK rating team with two new hires from Knight Frank.
Jason Gray (pictured) has joined the firm as a partner and head of Manchester rating, and Guy Fowke has joined as an associate director.
Gray, who has 30 years of experience, was a partner in the rating team at Knight Frank, and prior to that, he held senior roles at Altus Group and Gerald Eve (Newmark).
Gray and Fowke will be based in Cushman & Wakefield’s Manchester office and will work closely to support clients on rating appeals, mitigation strategies and wider business rates advice.
Mike Flecknoe, head of rating at Cushman & Wakefield, said: “Business rates are firmly on clients’ agendas, with a growing emphasis on fairness, transparency and proactive cost management. The appointments of Jason and Guy mark another milestone in the continued growth of our national rating team. Their expertise will be vital as we broaden our capabilities and ensure we have the right talent in place to provide high quality advice, helping clients navigate the challenges of business rates with confidence.”
Gray added: “Business rates are one of the largest costs our clients face, yet they’re often seen as overly complex. Our role is to cut through that complexity and ensure rates are fully understood and factored into every property decision. Following the 2026 revaluation, which has driven significant changes in rateable values across many sectors, this has never been more critical. We are looking forward to collaborating with colleagues and clients to ensure that the assessments ascribed to their assets are accurate and fair and inform their real estate decisions.”
