Mountpark’s development consent order (DCO) application for its proposed strategic rail freight interchange in Oxfordshire has been accepted for examination by the Planning Inspectorate.
The OxSRFI scheme, which is located near Junction 10 of the M40, will provide 5m sq ft of purpose‑built logistics space, a new intermodal rail terminal enabling efficient transfer of goods between rail and road and modern infrastructure capable of supporting national and regional distribution requirements.
Approximately 60% of the site is dedicated to green and blue infrastructure, including woodland creation, biodiversity enhancement, sustainable drainage and long‑term habitat management.
Mountpark is targeting EPC A+ and BREEAM Outstanding ratings for the buildings at the development.
A decision on the DCO application is expected to be made by the secretary of state for transport in mid-2027 and it is anticipated it will take seven years to fully build out the scheme.
