Perkins&Will has hired architect and designer Jo Wright as managing director of the firm’s London studio.

The architecture and design firm said Wright will oversee the firm’s regional strategy across a wide range of sectors, including life sciences, healthcare, education, commercial interiors and hospitality.

Wright, who is the London studio’s first female managing director, has more than 30 years of experience leading the design and delivery of projects across a wide range of scales and sectors.

Robert Brown, principal and interim managing director, Perkins&Will London, said: “Jo’s in-depth knowledge of the UK market and unparalleled experience across various sectors will be invaluable to her role in strengthening and steering the London studio’s presence in 2023 and beyond.”

Wright added: “Perkins&Will is a global market leader, and the London studio has a reputation for delivering high-quality design with a serious focus on sustainability. I look forward to the challenge of so many fantastic projects and bringing my knowledge and skillset to the table.

“2023 is set to pose many challenges, and unlike the last economic downturn, climate change is likely to remain at the top of the agenda. Like many industries, sustainability is a priority for architecture and design professionals. Ensuring new buildings and bringing all assets up to the highest sustainability standards will be key to reducing the built environment’s contribution to carbon emissions.”
