Valesco has appointed Stephen Cahoon as managing director, head of asset management.
Cahoon will be based in London and will be responsible for ‘formulating and implementing strategic asset enhancement initiatives, placemaking, asset repositioning and ESG performance, in order to deliver superior and differentiated risk adjusted returns to Valesco’s sovereign and institutional investor base’.
He has more than 16 years’ commercial real estate experience and was previously head of asset management, Europe, at Cromwell Property Group.
Shiraz Jiwa, founder and CEO of The Valesco Group, said: “Stephen has that rare combination of deep real estate sector experience and an entrepreneurial mindset, which has underpinned his delivery of highly successful and best-in-class asset management functions throughout his career.
“His proven ability to think like an occupier will be key as we curate highly sustainable real estate spaces that allow occupiers to achieve their long-term ambitions, which is critical to delivering strategic asset management programmes that enable meaningful value creation. His proven ability to engage with a sophisticated LP audience will also be invaluable as we drive our ambitious growth plans.”
Cahoon added: “Valesco has consistently closed smart deals and invested in high quality real estate, which I’m excited to be driving forward. Asset management is a critical component of business plan execution, and as occupier trends evolve, we are well placed to unlock further performance through hands-on value creation initiatives and close collaboration with our tenant customers. Coupled with the opportunities in our acquisition pipeline, I’m confident we will lock in both superior returns for our investors, and AUM growth for the platform.”
