Blacksand has acquired the 620,090 sq ft Morrisons distribution centre at Righead Industrial Estate, Bellshill, for an undisclosed sum.
The facility, which is located approximately 12 miles south east of Glasgow city centre, occupies a 41.6-acre site and serves as a regional logistics hub for Morrisons in Scotland.
The warehouse has extensive logistics infrastructure, including 93 loading doors, a vehicle maintenance unit, office accommodation and trailer and vehicle parking.
Jack Stacey, director in the investment team at Savills, which advised on the deal, said: “The acquisition of the Morrisons distribution centre highlights the continued demand for logistics assets that are high quality. Assets of this scale and strategic importance remain highly sought after, particularly where they play a critical role within a national occupier’s supply chain.”
