J Safra Group has let 64,204 sq ft at the Gherkin to global insurance and reinsurance broker BMS Group.
BMS has signed a 15-year lease on levels 22 to 25 at 30 St Mary Axe and is expected to take occupancy next summer. In addition to the BMS deal, a further two and a half floors of the building are currently under offer.
A spokesperson for J Safra Group said: “We are delighted to welcome BMS Group to the Gherkin. This agreement reflects the enduring appeal of the building’s design, location, and prestige. As we continue to invest in its evolution, 30 St Mary Axe remains a destination of choice for leading organisations in the City. Looking ahead, we are investing in enhancements to further elevate the tenant experience and sustainability credentials.”
Anna Biggin, senior director in CBRE’s London leasing team, which alongside Newmark represented J Safra Group, added: “Now in its second wave of occupiers, this deal underscores the continued appeal of landmark office locations such as the Gherkin, and the continued flight to quality that we’re seeing from occupiers who are looking for high quality office space in top locations.”
