BNF Capital and Morgan Real Estate have submitted a planning application for the comprehensive repositioning of 19 Charterhouse Street in Farringdon, London.

The joint venture partners acquired the 60,000 sq ft property in January 2023 from Derwent London in an off-market transaction.

Through an extensive retrofit and extension, the JV partners intend to transform the building into 85,000 sq ft of high quality, low carbon office space alongside 8,500 sq ft of space for retail and affordable jewellery units.

They are targeting NABERS 5*, BREEAM Outstanding, WiredScore and WELL Platinum certifications for the DSDHA-designed scheme.

Alex Morgan, managing partner at Morgan Real Estate, said: “Our plans for 19 Charterhouse Street reflects BNF’s and Morgan Real Estate’s commitment to creating forward-thinking, sustainable state-of-the-art office environments that will continue to meet the evolving demands of occupiers.

“By breathing new life into a building that was in a tired state of repair, both in appearance and quality, we’re not only delivering a premium workspace-led scheme that will serve as a benchmark for the industry, but we will also be contributing to a wider purpose of regenerating the Farringdon area.”
