Time is running out to have your say in our ‘Map the Gap’ skills campaign and be in with a chance of winning a cash prize.
Industry professionals have until midnight on Saturday 31 October to complete the Built Environment Job Prospects Survey and help measure – or map – the skills gap.
BE News and collaborating partner Cobalt Recruitment want to hear from professionals across the built environment industry, whether they work in commercial real estate, construction, housing, planning, architecture, engineering, law or another part of the industry.
The survey takes just three minutes to complete and everyone who submits a finished survey by the deadline will be automatically entered into the prize draw. There are two surveys to choose from, one for employees and one for employers:

The more professionals from across the wider built environment industry who complete the surveys, the more robust and credible the findings will be, so please spread the word and share the links with your colleagues, industry friends and networks.
The purpose of the Map the Gap campaign, which is supported by non-commercial partners including the Built Environment Schools Trust, Built Environment Futures Assembly, The Land Collective and The HerEstate Network, is to measure – or map – the industry skills gap, so we can work collectively to close it.
The survey findings will be revealed at a ‘Map the Gap Spotlight+’ event in early in 2027 and used to inform an industry-wide initiative aimed at closing the skills gap. Key industry stakeholders and people at the sharp end of the skills crisis will be invited to the ‘Map the Gap Spotlight+’ event.
