Bywater Properties has hired Harry Daws as head of living to help shape the company’s strategy as it expands into the residential sector.
Daws, who has more than 15 years’ experience in real estate investment, was most recently investment director at Scape.
In his new role, he will help to support the Bywater team as it explores opportunities in the single-family and multi-family housing and student accommodation sectors.
Daws said: “I’m thrilled to be joining such a talented group with a collective passion for decarbonising the real estate sector. I look forward to helping Bywater expand into the residential market – bolstering its already stellar reputation in the delivery of low-carbon projects. Bywater considers not only operational carbon, but the entire carbon footprint across a project’s lifecycle, something which very few others in the industry are doing right now. As their head of living, I see huge opportunity to create real, meaningful change in the sector’s push towards net-zero.”
Theo Michell, COO of Bywater Properties, added: “Our decision to appoint a new head of living marks a moment of evolution for Bywater, as we look to diversify our portfolio of sustainable assets across the UK. Harry brings a wealth of knowledge across both London and regional residential markets and will play a critical role in supporting Bywater’s expansion.
“Our long-term vision, with capital investment from Sumitomo Forestry, is to deliver projects that create meaningful change and challenge current norms in the property sector. We aim to align the goals of our investors, occupiers and the broader community through the delivery of high-quality, low-carbon projects – in particular timber.”
