Countryside Properties (Bicester), part of Vistry, has sold a development site in Kingsmere, south west Bicester, to affordable and extra care provider Preferred Homes for an undisclosed price.
Preferred Homes will deliver an 82‑apartment extra care facility on the site alongside up to 14 residential dwellings, which will be developed by a housebuilder.
The hybrid planning permission for the site, which was secured earlier this year, also includes landscaping, car and cycle parking and supporting infrastructure, on the site which sits to the east of Ludlow Road.
James Harkin, head of Vistry Strategic Land, said: “Securing planning consent for this extra care facility is an important step in bringing forward high quality extra care accommodation at Kingsmere. Completing the land sale to Preferred Homes ensures this much‑needed provision can now be delivered, while the residential element will continue to support local housing delivery as the final areas of the Kingsmere development come forward.”
