Dandara Eastern has acquired a development site to the south of London Road in Billericay on which it intends to build 130 homes.

The development will comprise a mix of two- to five-bedroom homes, 50% of which will be affordable.

Dandara’s development proposals place a strong emphasis on enhancing and protecting the site’s ecological features, with plans including the creation of a dedicated wildlife area, wildflower meadows, retained and enhanced hedgerows, the planting of new trees, nature trails and new shared pedestrian and cycle routes.

Andrew Wickett, managing director of Dandara Eastern, said: “This site is Dandara Eastern’s fifth land purchase in Essex in the last 12 months demonstrating our continued investment across the county and reinforces our commitment to delivering high quality, sustainable developments in highly desirable locations across the region.

“This development will help address the area’s housing need by delivering a mixture of high quality homes, while also providing lasting benefits for the wider community. Alongside new homes, the scheme will deliver investment in local infrastructure, ensuring the development creates a positive legacy for both existing and future residents. We look forward to working closely with the local authority and community as this development comes to life.”
